What do you want to do this weekend?

I’m sure you both woke up with greatest intentions of leaving the house, exploring the city, going on that bike ride, or maybe even just getting brunch.

Donning your robes, you retreat to the couch, instead, finding that sometimes, the best weekend plans are those that happen when you stop making them.

Emily Ryan Lerner’s Weekend Plans piece is part of our Off The Wall art event that starts today.

This December In The Gallery

When you go to a regular art gallery and try to buy some art, they’re like, “You have to wait until the show comes down to take it home.”

Well, we think that’s cool if it’s the middle of summer, but we’re talking about primo gift-giving season right now.

Art is the best gift you can give.

So at Land Gallery, we’re doing things a little differently this December.

See a piece you like? Take it off the wall and bring it home right then and there.

Featuring the work of over 20 different artists. The show runs Friday, December 9th through Saturday, December 24th, 2011.

INHERIT: 2012
The Original Papercuts of Nikki McClure

Friday, November 4 - December 4, 2011

Direct from her fabulous retrospective at The Museum of Contemporary Craft, Nikki McClure is bringing all new work to Land. Featuring pieces from her 2012 wall calendar as well as smaller, assorted work previously unseen.

Nikki was the first show ever at the Land Gallery back in October 2009, and we’re excited to welcome her back for her third show with us.

Her work is an amazing feat of crafstmanship and artistry, as she takes a single piece of black paper and using only an x-acto knife is able to tell complex stories of life, motherhood, work, friendship and community with deceptively simple cuts.

Opening wine reception with the artist.
