Wild At Heart
Opens February 3, 2012 at 6pm
Runs February 3, 2012 - March 3, 2012
Wild at Heart—new work by Trish Grantham and Lisa Congdon—is an homage to the wildly romantic month of February.
Grantham’s work for the show represents her love for animals and, in turn, their love for humanity. For Grantham, the creatures in her paintings “reach out to our wounded land and send true love and heartfelt sentiment and bring us together as one.”
Congdon’s work for the show draws on Victorian notions of romanticism and elegance. Congdon plays with the tensions between old and new, bright and dark, plain and fancy, serious and whimsical—that are all part of the romantic experience.
Both artists will leave you quite certain that, animal or human, we are all wild at heart.
